Mr. Hassan Nemazee combines a wide range of charitable activities as well as volunteer involvement for the betterment of society together with his business pursuits. As an experienced business leader, Mr. Nemazee has enlisted his knowledge and expertise for the benefit of varied populations across the United States and also the globe. This involvement includes activities for charities and support organizations, as well as the contribution of his time and acumen to a number of leading think tanks on diverse subjects.
The two prime activities that Mr. Nemazee is most proud of are his deep involvement with the Nemazee Hospital in Shiraz, Iran, and the The Brain Trauma Foundation.
The Nemazee Hospital was established by Mohammed Nemazee, Hassan’s father. Until his death in 1970, Mohammed was the Director of the hospital and he was responsible for the successful management and tremendous expansion of the hospital. After his death, Hassan took over all his responsibilities and has continued his father’s legacy successfully maintaining the hospital.

The Brain Trauma Foundation (BTF) sees as its aim the provision of the full gamut of services to incidents of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). TBI is the severe injury to the brain that results in irreversible damage, and many of the advances in the diagnosis, treatment and research of TBI are due to the BTF. Hassan Nemazee serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees as of 1996.

Alongside these activities, Mr. Nemazee has harnessed his impressive qualities in the service of society through a number of leading non-governmental organizations, academic facilities and public policy institutes. These include the RAND Center for Middle East Public Policy Advisory Board, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Asia Society Policy Advisory Board and various committees at Harvard University, including the Center for International Affairs and the Visiting Committee on University Resources.
